Email Addresses
- Published 07/27/2009
Hello All
Please ensure the email address you have recorded in your profile is an email address you check regularly. All our notifications are sent out via email, this includes article dis-approval notices. If we dis-approve an article for any reason we notify you via email of the problems.
If you do not check your email you'll never know. There is one author that has submitted over 100 articles and we have dis-approved most of them, but despite us sending mails an email each and every time, she keeps making the same error.
Please update your email address asap.
Thanks

We're Back!
- Published 07/24/2009
Hello All
You may have noticed that Article Land is back!
We have moved the site from the .co.uk tld to .com. If you were re-directed here from the .co.uk domain you may want to update your bookmarks to http://www.articleland.com
Today (24th July) we are re-building some of the additional pages, like the submission guidelines but we should be fully operational by this evening.
Best Regards

Articleland is Moving
- Published 07/16/2009
Hello all
Articleland.co.uk is moving to Articleland.com
Over the next few days we are moving the site to a much more stable server platform, which should sort out all the off-air events we have had recently. Apologies to those of you who have been trying to login!
At the same time we are re-directing the site to articleland.com. You won't see any difference when you visit the site, except it will re-direct to the.com variant.
We will make the swap over as brief as possible but once done we are very confident that the off air events will no longer occur.

We have removed the forums from Article Land due to the fact that they were getting spammed to death and we just couldn't keep on top of the amount of moderation required.
Apologies to anyone who found them of use.

Further Accounts Deleted and Removal of Gmail from Registration Process
- Published 11/14/2008
Following another purge of the database, we have removed hundreds of spam accounts. All these accounts were using black hat seo practices. Needless to say our war on spam is continuing.
As a result we have suspended the gmail, googlemail, email clients from being used during the registration process. We are also considering removing hotmail, yahoo and other free services aswell. We'll see how it goes over the next few weeks.

Link Spamming
- Published 10/24/2008
Over the last few days we have deleted over 200 author accounts. This has mainly been because these authors have been link spamming.
Link spamming is where authors post a link to a throw away domain that automatically re-directs to a specific product sales page. All these authors have been posting links that re-direct to one specific page. We are actively removing any author that links to that specific page, and will continue to do so.
We have set up a name and shame page, if you are interested here.

A Title is a Title - Not a Body of Text
- Published 10/4/2008
It never ceases to amaze me and the other article reviewers why so many people write their article title in lowercase.
It's a title you are writing! Make it stand out!
When I was in school I was always taught to capitalize each and every word of a title, except maybe for little filler words like and, or, of, etc... My children are taught exactly the same way.
A lowercase title will not even make it past our filters let alone get to the review stage. A title should be written thus:
The Little Black Cat Sat On The Mat
If you write your article title in this manner it won't get bounced back to you. It is also quite amazing how many people make this error time after time. There is one author who has submitted over 100 articles and 80 of them have been bounced for this reason. She obviously doesn't check her email account as she would realize that every time she submits an article they are not being published, yet she continues to submit articles. Beyond my comprehension!!!
Please, please, please, write your article titles in the correct manner so we can publish them for you.

Important - Email Addresses
- Published 09/4/2008
Hello all
Please ensure the email address you have registered with is an email address you check regularly. The reason being, when you submit an article, if it has problems we send out a notification detailing what the issue is. It is clear that with certain authors they are not receiving these emails or they are not checking their email accounts.
There are a number of authors that just re-submit the exact same article without making any changes, we disapprove it, they re-submit, we dis-approve, etc... Its a never ending chain. We have starting deleting accounts where it is clear that the author has not read our communication.
Don't let it happen to you, check the email address you have registered on Article Land.
Thanks for your co-operation.

Howdy Folks
We have finally been able to resolve the database issues that have caused Article Land to be offline for so long. I think it was about 3 weeks and we can only apologize for the extent of the downtime.
We believe we have managed to resolve the issues but we have lost some data. We estimate about 5% data loss from the database which under the circumstances is pretty good. If you have been affected by the data loss, please accept our apologies. If you want to resubmit any articles that have been lost we will be working around the clock to help you get them approved.
One thing we have learnt from this experience is the importance of backups, without them Article Land would have been dead! So take our advice and backup your data regularly.
We would really appreciate it, if you spot any issues with the site, to let us know via the 'contact us' link.
Best Regards

The Use of HTML
- Published 04/28/2008
Hello All
We get so many articles with HTML in the content. HTML will not resolve itself in the WYSIWYG editor. If you want to add links you have to use the link function in the article submission form. Up until now we have been editing articles with HTML in the content and constructing links, however, we receive so many articles nowadays that we can no longer do this.
If an article contains any HTML, it will be rejected. Always use the editor functionality to build links, bold letters, underline, etc... It works just like a wordprocessor.
